To the friends, visitors, and staff of Absolute Wrestling -
As those of you who visited Absolute Wrestling today have noticed, AW has been closed. I am sure that some of you have been aware of recent problems among the staff at the site. The hope was to either resolve these problems, or to at least come to a point where AW would remain open. As you can surmise, these things have not happened and it has come to the point where I saw no choice but to close the site.
Unfortunately after recent postings on the AW forum board, it has become clear to me that the people involved in these problems have not put them in the past and moved on, and are instead still focusing on these issues. One of the agreements to keeping the site open, was that these things would be left alone, and this has not occurred. Also in recent postings, several things, that were told in confidence, have been written in a public forum. This shows me that whatever trust had remained is now gone.
I find it a very unfortunate situation that the site had to be closed, but the combination of factors listed above have made it clear to me that closing the site was the only thing to do.
Many of the writers and staff have already moved to a new site, and are now working at the following location: http://www.geocities.com/bloodymesswrestling/ They are doing a good job there and I encourage everyone to visit them.
I want to thank everyone for all of their time, effort, and support for AW. The time spent that we spend there was great and I know that over the six months the site was open we had some fun and made some interesting memories.
To the visitors, thanks for coming to the site and showing your support by reading what was posted and participating in the events. To the staff, thanks for all the hard work that you put in. The site really did grow a lot from its inception, and it wouldn't have been possible without the time that you all spent on it. Everyone take care of yourselves, and I wish the best for you in the future.
